Srinagar: The aspirants for the post of food inspector (district cadre) Monday complained delay in the selection process.
A delegation of aspirants here said the posts were advertised the Service Selection Board early last year and the interview was conducted shortly afterwards. They, however, said the selection list has not been declared yet.
"It has been over a year now since the short-listed candidates were interviewed but the declaration of result still seems a long time away. Most candidates who have applied for the post are on the verge of crossing the upper age limit," the delegation said.
They said the drug inspector posts were advertised much after the food inspector post, "But the selection process for it (drug inspector post) is already complete."
The delegation alleged that the board was "deliberately delaying the results." "These are district cadre posts and there are no aspirants from Jammu. The delay is just an act of discrimination against Kashmiris," they said and appealed for speedy declaration of results.
