Srinagar, Oct 9: The Government of India Tuesday said that National Hydel Power Corporation (NHPC) was running all power projects in Jammu and Kashmir successfully and there was no question of returning the projects to the State as the issue has been already settled.
Union Power Secretary P Uma Shanker made the remarks while replying to a question during Economic Editors Conference organized by Press Information Bureau (PIB) in New Delhi. Shanker made the statement in presence of Union Minister for Power, Veerapa Moily.
"The issue has already been settled with the J&K Government. NHPC is running all power projects in J&K successfully and there is no question of handing them over to the State," Shanker said while replying to a query.
