Srinagar, Oct 9: National Conference president Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed strong resentment over the government's failure to meet its commitment on providing necessary assistance to the October 8, 2005, earthquake victims even after the lapse of one year.
In a statement here, Omar alleged that the state government showed negligence and tardiness in passing on the generous financial assistance provided by the central government for the earthquake victims.
"As a result, the affected families are facing lot of miseries and hardships," he said.
Expressing sympathies with the affected families, Omar hoped that the state government would extend wholehearted support to the victims in the reconstruction of their houses.
