Srinagar: Several aspirants, who have applied for the post of specialist doctors under National Rural Health Mission Scheme today alleged that the health department had not recruited all the doctors against the advertised number of posts.
"Health Department has only recruited few doctors while as it has to recruit more than 30," they said. They alleged that department had adapted the 'pick and chose' method in recruitment adding that it was to recruit two orthopedics, but it recruited only one.
When contacted, director health department, Dr Amin Wani denied the allegation and said all the advertised posts were filled. He said out of the 28 advertised posts, they had recruited specialist doctors mostly for Anesthesia, Gynae and in Pediatrics because the critical patients in rural area mostly need these doctors. However, they had recruited 5 doctors for the general specialist category including Orthopedics, he said.
