Srinagar, Nov 9: People's Democratic Party's member of Legislative Assembly from Lolab and convenor of Kupwara Bachaav Committee, Advocate Abdul Haq Khan, along with several supporters Monday staged protests in the city centre here against inter-district recruitments.
"This is a policy wherein people from Jammu division get selected in other districts of the state especially in Kupwara. It has affected the future of unemployed youth of the Kashmir division and other backward districts," Khan said.
In the recent selections, Khan said a large number of youth from Jammu had got selected in Kashmir division after which they had managed to get themselves transferred along with posts to their native areas.
The PDP MLA said that in the past fortnight, 226 posts in health department had been allocated for Jammu division only which smacks of gross discrimination.
Khan called for an immediate halt of the recruitment for forest guards.
The committee, he warned, would gherao the Service Selection Board office on November 13 to press its demands.
