Srinagar, Nov 9: Tehsil Legal Services Authority Islamabad today organized a Lok Adalat in which 17 cases were settled out of 35 cases taken up. Out of the 17 cases 13 belong to matrimonial and four criminal challan.
For 13 matrimonial cases, maintenance charges worth Rs. 15000 were disbursed and Rs. 1400 was realized as fine. The CJM Islamabad, Seema Bashir presided the Lok Adalat.
Meanwhile, in Varmul, since Lok Adalats were convened in various courts of the district, 426 cases of different nature like matrimonial, civil and criminal were taken up. Out of these, 275 cases were amicably settled among the parties and an amount of Rs 11.80 lakh were awarded in six motor accidental cases and another Rs. 62400 were imposed as fine.
This was given out today during an awareness camp organized in District Court Complex Varmul and presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge, Varmul, Nazir Fida. On the occasion seven cases of different nature were taken up and settled.
