This refers to frequent power-cuts resorted to by the Power Development Department. This is causing huge inconvenience to the student community particularly which is appearing in different examinations this time. In darkness, they are not able to study properly. The problem is compounded by the freezing chill outside. One fails to understand why the PDD is resorting to unscheduled power cuts. One of the prime reasons seems be its own failure to curb the transmission and distribution losses and also its failure to recover dues from the public. If people are resorting to unfair means, it is because of the faulty policies of the state government and the PDD, and also because its officials are hand in glove with the defaulters. Unfortunately those who pay their bills in time are also suffering. I liked the news story because it had highlighted the areas where there is round the clock power supply because the inhabitants there happen to be Babus and officials.
