Srinagar, Nov 9: Protest marches were taken in different parts of the valley on Friday against the publication of an objectionable cartoon in a local Urdu daily.
 Reports said that thousands of protesters led by the chairman of Anjuman-e Shara-Shiyan Aga Sayeed Hassan Al Mousvi took out a protest march in Budgam township of central Kashmir against the publication of the cartoon.
 Aga Sayeed Hassan while addressing the protesters said that, "Publication of cartoon is a deplorable act and it should be condemned by every one in one voice."
 Protest marches were also taken out in Magam, Delina Varmul and other parts of the Valley.
 Meanwhile, several Shia organization in Kashmir Valley on Friday strongly protested the publication of derogatory cartoon of noted Shia leader and former president of Iran in a local Urdu Daily.
 According to local news agency, CNS, people belonging to Shia community in Budgam, Pattan, Sonawari, Zadibal and Beeru area held protest demonstrations against the publication of cartoon.
 Several Anjuman and religious leaders of Shia community have said the publication of cartoon had offended the religious sentiments of people.
