Jammu: Under APDRP Rs. 22 crore would be utilized to streamlined the power distribution system in Budgam district during this financial year. Under the programme all the un-electrified villages would be electrified besides conducing the repairs of transformers and transmission lines.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister for Transport Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen. Among others the Minister for Power Nawang Rigzin Jora also attended the meeting.
Hakeem Yaseen said that two receiving stations each of 6.3 MVA capacity costing Rs. 2 crore would be constructed at Arizal and water hail areas of the district under Rural Electrification Scheme (RES) while as work on 5 MW capacity mini power project costing Rs. 9.63 crore is in progress at Doodhganga nallah.
Yaseen said that another two Mini Power Projects of 26.5 MW capacity at nallah Sukhnag and Shaligenga would be constructed in the district which have already been tendered and the works is being started shortly. He said government is committed to provide all basic facilities to the people. He called upon the engineers of PDD for completion of ongoing schemes besides formulation of plans for that projects which are off urgent and public utility naturte. He exhorted upon the engineers to redouble their efforts for completion of all ongoing schemes in the district in scheduled time frame. He stressed for utilization of funds earmarked under APRDP for completion of all the schemes under the programme.
