Srinagar, Dec 9: The undergraduate examinations must be concluded before December 31 and in effect the classes for the various degree coursed should start in March and that the subject combinations in respect of the newly established colleges need to revised. This was resolved at a high level meeting of the Principals of the Degree Colleges of Kashmir province and University functionaries on Thursday chaired by Vice-Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Abdul Wahid Qureshi.
Prof Qureshi asked the teachers of colleges through their Principals to cooperate with Kashmir University to achieve the path of academic excellence in all areas of education. Besides being attended by 25 Principals from various degree colleges of Kashmir, Registrar Kashmir University Prof Mehrajudin, Dean Academics KU Prof MA Sofi, Dean College development Council Prof Nisar Ali, Controller Examination Prof M A Shah and Director College Higher Education department Civil Secretariat were present, a KU PRO statement said.
The meeting resolved that the subject combinations in respect of the newly established colleges need to be revised, the undergraduate examinations must be concluded before December 31 and in effect the classes for the various degree coursed should started in march, Interdisciplinary refresher and orientation courses be conducted so that the logistic problems regarding the availability of collage teachers be resolved, a nominal fee be instituted for the NSS so that the NSS structure in Kashmir be revitalized.
