Bandipora, Mar 6: The state Congress president, Saif-ud-din Soz, Saturday said the ruling coalition has yet to decide on contesting the local bodies' poll jointly.
"We have yet to decide on fighting the upcoming local bodies elections jointly and have formed committees whose recommendations would be accepted," he told reporters on the sidelines of convention of Congress party here.
Welcoming the surrender policy, he said there should be proper scrutiny of the youth who want to come back from Pakistan administered Kashmir and should shun path of violence.
He said dialogue between India and Pakistan including back channel talks were going on.
"Our prime minister is monitoring the situation and after long deliberations talks have started and Pakistan should understand that that path of violence is not right," he added.
He assured people that their demands for hospital, construction of community centre and recruitment of locals in Kishan Ganga Project were just.
He sanctioned Rs 10 lakh from his MP LAD fund towards the construction of a community centre at Bandipora.
Senior Congress leader Gulam Rasool Kar gave a brief account of Party's contribution in the freedom struggle. Gulam Nabi Monga and Usman Majid also spoke on the occasion.
