Students translate Mozilla browser into Kashmiri

Mozilla Community Jammu and Kashmir held a two-day event at SP College to translate Mozilla Firefox Browser into Kashmir language. The event was held in collaboration with SP College, Innovate Me and Centre for Research and Development. “The first-of its event was aimed to promote, preserve and globalise Kashmiri language,” said Tanzeel Khan who with other students of SP College including Ubaidullah Pandit, Mukhtar Ahmad, Wajid Aalam and Syed Aasim organized the event. Students from various colleges of Srinagar participated in the event as translators. “More than 6000 lines were rendered into Kashmiris language. Sessions on Mozilla products, online security and privacy were also held,” the organizers said.
