Drang appeals DDC Budgam, Dir CAPD

Greater Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 14: Alleging that a local CA&PD official was forcing consumers to pay graft for providing free ration to flood affected families, inhabitants of Drang in central Kashmir’s Budgam district Wednesday sought intervention of the higher ups into the matter.
A delegation from the locality led by Bashir Ahmad Malik said that when they raised objections to paying Rs 20 for getting free ration, ‘official refused to provide us rice.’
“The official claimed that he has to pay the collected amount to higher ups of CA&PD,” the delegation said.
They informed that there are around 450 ration card holders and sought intervention of DDC Budgam and Director Food.
“I will look into the matter and assure action under law against any official found guilty,” said Bilal Ahmad, Director CA&PD.
