Employees lock MC office at Tangmarg

Tangmarg, Aug 31:  Employees of Municipal Committees of Gulmarg and Tangmrag   staged a protest here on Saturday to seek release of their salaries, which they said, have been withheld for the past many months.
Scores of these casual laborers assembled in Tangmarg market and locked the Municipal Committee office and threw the garbage heaps at different spots of the market. The employees said that the MC is making them sweep the roads, markets and lawns regularly without releasing their wages.
Despite repeated attempts the Executive Officer of MC Tangmarg could not be reached on phone.

Bear mauls man
Srinagar, Aug 31: An aged person was injured by a bear in Mattan area of  Islamabad (Anantnag) district last evening, a police spokesman said.
He said Abdul Majeed Mir, 60, of Malpora Hutmurah, was attacked and injured by a bear at Hutmurah. He was hospitalized. 

Girl dies in Awantipora
Srinagar, Aug 31: A girl died under suspicious circumstances at Awantipora in south Kashmir, police said on Saturday.
A girl (name with held) of Hatwara Lethpora, Awantipora was brought to the hospital by her parents where doctors declared her brought dead. Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard.

Urs of Hazrat Baba Reshi (RA) to commence from Sep 5
Islamabad (Anantnag), Aug 31: The annual Urs-e-Pak of Hazrat Baba Reshi (RA) will be celebrated here in south Kashmir from September 5 to September 9, 2013, an official spokesman said. 
 He said the Shab Khawni shall be observed on Saturday September 7, 2013 at 10.30 p.m. in which devotees from different parts of Kashmir would participate.
