Regularize daily-wagers,release of 17% DA

Greater Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 21: Jammu and Kashmir Employees’ Joint Action Committee (EJAC) president Abdul Qayoom Wani has expressed serious concern over, what he said, the inordinate delay in the regularizations of the services of daily-wagers, appealing to the Governor N N Vohra and the chief secretary for intervention and issuance of regularization orders.
Wani also appealed to the Governor and the chief secretary for release of 17% DA to state employees, pending salaries to SSA and RMSA teachers and employees working in the family and health department, besides removing the pay anomalies in all departments, particularly re-revised scale of 6500-10500 and clerical pay anomaly.
“The cabinet subcommittee authorized by the then Chief Minister has already accepted in letter and spirit the regularization of daily wagers in the light of the agreement reached between JCC and state government but formal orders have not been issued yet,” Wani said, while addressing a meeting of EJAC leaders here today, threatening state wide agitations if the daily wagers are not regularized and the other issues of employees not resolved.
“Special attention was focused on the regularization of daily wagers in the session and delay on the part of government was termed as serious issue. The session assured that until all the daily wagers are regularized the JCC and EJAC will stand by them in all the circumstances and won’t hesitate in launching a state wide agitation,” said a spokesman of the EJAC in a statement today, appealing to the Governor N N Vohra and the chief secretary M Iqbal Khanday to take pity on the poor and helpless employees and issue their regularization orders.
