All-India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) has urged the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to direct the Reserve Bank of India for closing three CTS on polling days for allowing the employees to poll their votes.

The All-India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) has urgedthe Chief Election Commissioner to direct the RBI to ensure that the threeCheque Truncation System (CTS) grids – northern, western and southern – remainclosed on the respective polling dates so that employees posted there canexercise their franchise.

If the Grids are functioning, the employees and officers will be compelled to attend the Cheque Processing Centres irrespective of the polling dates thereby depriving them from exercising their democratic rights, which is in contravention of Section 135B of the said Act, it has written.

The AIBOC has requested ECI for “necessary instructions” to RBI in this regard to ensure that the three Grids along with the concerned Cheque Processing Centres remain closed on the respective polling dates so that every employee posted there can exercise their franchise.
