The burglars on Thursday looted a footwear shop at Bismillah market here. The shop of Javid Ahmad lone son of Ghulam Ahmad, at Bismillah market near general bus stand Sopore was looted during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The owner of the shop said that burglars have taken away goods worth thousands of rupees.
Dozens of shops were looted in different markets of townsince last one month and decamped with items worth lakhs of rupees.
Meanwhile, chairman Economic Alliance, Sopore MuhammadAshraf Ganaie along with shopkeepers held a protest against the districtadministration and the police accusing them of failing to check such incidentsin the town.
