Chairman and CEO of J&K Bank, Parvez Ahmed, called on Governor NN Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.
Ahmed apprised the governor about the bank’s overall performance particularly the scale of its lending in agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts, hospitality & tourism, poultry, sheep & goat rearing and other upcoming sectors; lending for the implementation of Govt. of India flagship schemes under the Prime Ministers Mudra Yojana (PMMY); expansion of Bank branches, support to startups to enable entrepreneurs to start their own MSME units and other ventures etc.
Governor stressed the important role which the bank is expected to play for triggering the rapid growth and development of the state and advised the chairman to progressively strengthen the bank’s internal controls and system for ensuring high efficiency on all fronts.
