Director Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir Mahmood Ahmad Shah today conveyed his felicitations to Ghulam Rasool Khan and Sajad Hussain Dar who were honoured today on the eve of Republic day 2021 with Padma and State awards in recognition of the role played in the promotion of Kashmir Handicrafts.
Jammu Kashmir UT Government also accorded sanction to grant of State awards on the eve of Republic day 2021 in which Sajad Hussain Dar was awarded Rs 51,000, a medal and a citation for promotion of Paper Machie Craft.
The Director termed the development of conferring of the Padma and State award as a welcome Development and an encouraging sign for recognition of the talent of the Kashmiri craftsmen at the highest level.
Ghulam Rasool Khan who has been conferred with Padma Award this year is a well known and seasoned craftsman for creating masterpieces and rare artefacts in the Jamawar craft and is already a receipt of State, National and Shilip guru awards in the particular field.
