Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Satuday reviewed progress of various departmental activities and different horticulture related schemes in Leh.
According to an official spokesperson, he was accompanied byChief Horticulture officer, Leh, Horticulture Development officers and otherfield officers/officials.
Director Horticulture visited fruit plant nursery Terchay,Sumoor, Nimoo and Suspole where he was appraised that under such nurseries various fruit plants are produced and distributed among the farmersespecially Apricot. DirectorHorticulture also visited various medium density orchards in the areas as wellas other components viz Pack Houses, Poly green houses, vermi compost units,Bore/tube wells, water storage tanks etc.
Director Horticulture also inspected Fruit and vegetablecanning centre Nimoo and Khalsi and instructions were given to make thesecentres functional immediately so that unemployed youths of the area can getbenefits of these centres.
