Field executives of legal metrology department conducted inspection of Khonmoh area of the Srinagar city on Wednesday and booked seven erring bakers for violating Legal Metrology Laws.
The Director Food, Civil Supplies and consumer AffairsKashmir has fixed the weight of Rs 5 Kashmiri chut, lawasa, chuchwuru as 60gram. During the inspection, it was found that most of the bakers in the areaare abiding by the rate and weight parameters. However, the bakers were foundusing unverified weights and measures. A penal sum of Rs 5800 was collectedfrom the erring bakers on spot.
