In the wake of Ramadan, Enforcement wing of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Food Safety and Standards (FS&S) and Legal Metrology Department (LMD) today conducted special joint market checking in various areas of Srinagar.
The Joint inspection team headed by Deputy Director FCS&CA Mohammad Akbar and Deputy Controller LMD Tanveer Ahmad representative from Food Safety and Standards visited Maharaja Bazar, LalDed Area, Jawahar Nagar, KursooRajbagh and other adjoining areas and booked butchers, restaurant owners, fruit and vegetable vendors, chemists and druggists besides other erring shopkeepers.
A fine of Rs 9000 was recovered from the errant shopkeepersby FCS&CA and LMD after they were found failing to maintain the quality offood items.
