Senior executive member of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement FerozePeerzada has thanked Jammu and Kashmir Bank chairman for opening business units at Dangarpora, Sopore.
In a statement, Peerzada said, “Opening of a J&K Bankbranch in Dangerpora, Sopore, which is a business hub in north Kashmir, was along pending demand of the local populace and traders community.”
Peerzada hailed the J&K Bank authorities for acceding tohis request. “It will provide a big relief to the general public as well astraders to have banking facilities at their door steps,” he said
Earlier, people of the area had to travel a long distanceuptoSopore to reach the J&K Bank branch. Availability of banking facilitiesin their area would go in a long in the promotion of business and selfemployment opportunities in the area, he said.
“In fact, other premier banking institutions especiallyEllaqaiDehati Bank, and Cooperative Bank should also open their business unitsin Dangerpora to enable consumers to avail banking facilities at competitiverates. Dangerpora is primarily ahorticulture and agriculture based area which has a vast fruit businesspotential,” he said.
Peerzada asked the banks to create awareness among the fruitgrowers about post harvest technology and provide them hassle free lendingfacilities to set up their own cold storage units, Grading and Packaging sheds besidespurchasing modern agriculture machinery like power Tillers and multipurpose tractors to boost theirbusiness.
He said there are various central and state governmentschemes for promotion and development of agriculture and horticulture basedindustries which offer special subsidy and concessions.
