Government is working on a financial package for various sectors, including civil aviation and tourism, to deal with the fall-out of the coronavirus pandemic that has impacted the economy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced settingup of a task force under Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman which will takenecessary actions “in the near future” after analysing thecoronavirus pandemic situation.
According to government sources, Sitharaman will hold ameeting with MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari, Animal Husbandry Minister GirirajSingh, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Tourism Minister PrahladSingh Patel on Friday to assess the situation in order to work out a package.
“The task force would be in constant contact with allthe stakeholders, take their feedback and after analysing the situation takenecessary decision in the future,” sources said.
The task force will also ensure that all decisions taken totide over the economic crisis are effectively implemented, he said adding thatthe pandemic has greatly impacted the economic wellbeing of the middle,lower-middle and the poor sections of the society.
