HELP Foundation, a local NGO headed by Nighat Shafi held an exhibition and sale of products of Shehjar in collaboration with Centre for Women’s Studies and Research, University of Kashmir at the varsity campus.
HELP Foundation has been working for the psycho-social and socio-economic development of victims of conflict through its various empowerment initiatives including SHEHJAR.
Foundation has established Empowerment Centres where women are trained in various skills like garment designing, surface embroidery, agro- business, food processing etc.
The event was inaugurated by the Dean Faculty of Social Science Prof Asifa Jan in front of a number of dignitaries.
Coordinator of Centre Dr Tabassum Firdous, Coordinator of Exhibition Dr Roshan Ara, Chairperson of the HELP Foundation, Programme Manager Assma Qureshi and other staff of HELP Foundation were present at the occasion.
The main aim was to encourage the women workers associated with Shehjar and to provide them a platform to showcase their skill.
