The State Administrative Council (SAC) which met on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Governor, Satya Pal Malik accorded sanction to the holding of J&K Investor Summit-2019 on October 12-14.
According to an official statement, the opening ceremonywill be held on October 12 at Srinagar, followed by (transit/ sightseeing) onOctober 13 and closing on October 14 at Jammu.
SAC also approved engagement of Confederation of IndianIndustries (CII) as National Partner for the J&K Investor Summit- 2019 andexecution of a MoUbetween Jammu andKashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) and CII for organization and management of the event.
The hosting of the J&K Investor Summit will provide theState with an opportunity to showcase its strengths, strategies and potential,said the statement.
Participating trade and industry organizations will come toknow firsthand about the business friendly policies of the Government, assessinfrastructure, natural resources, raw material and skill and un-skilledmanpower available and identify business opportunities in the State.
It will present immense opportunities to develop contactsbetween State and business community and between local and outside businesscommunity. For the State like J&K, the Investor Summit will provide anopportunity to allay fear and apprehensions from the minds of outside trade andbusiness community.
JKTPO initiated the process for engagement of NationalPartner, Knowledge Partner, Media Partner and Event Partner. Investor summitsare being conducted regularly in other states. CII and FICCI do these kinds ofspecific event, have vast experience and have been associated with many statesas exclusive National Partner including Gujarat, Uttarakhand, HP, Rajasthanetc. CII & FICCI gave a PPT to the Advisor (KS) and Industries &Commerce Department on 7th June, 2019.
