JK to have Tourism Policy soon

Shah added that the draft tourism policy gives emphasis on publicity and marketing of the tourism sector.

To finalize the draft of state’s first Tourism Policy named ‘Vision 2025’, Director, Tourism department Kashmir Friday held deliberations with the stakeholders at SKICC here. 

 

The Tourism department has hired the services of outside consultants to come up with a tourism policy.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Director, Tourism Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Shah said the consultants hired to prepare tourism policy have come up with their draft and today’s interaction with tourism stakeholders was held to take their feedback and suggestions on the draft. 

 

“Vision 2025 contains detailed methodology about the various facets of tourism sector. It contains programs and methodology for diversification of tourism products such as rural tourism, promotion of untapped destinations, single window clearance for new investors, guidelines for construction of new properties, human resource developments and other import factors which are necessary to give a fillip to the tourism sector," he said. 

 

Shah added that the draft tourism policy gives emphasis on publicity and marketing of the tourism sector.

 

The Director Tourism stated policy will have a holistic approach towards the development of this sector. 

He said after incorporating the suggestions of stakeholders in the vision document, the final draft will be put before the state government for approval.
