JKEDI holds orientation for students of GGHSS Khanyar

Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Monday held an orientation programme for the students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Khanyar at its Pampore campus.

The programme, according to an EDI spokesperson, was held atJKEDI main campus in which the 38 students of along with their teachers andtrainers participated. The orientation programme was part of the institute’spolicy to orient young students enrolled in various schools of the state andsow the seeds of entrepreneurship.

   

The students who participated in the orientation programmehave opted for trades like retailing and security services as their vocationalsubjects introduced by the state government.

The orientation programme was coordinated by EDI facultyincluding Shabir Hussain Shah and Sheikh Nowsheen.

The faculty also briefed the participants about the schemesbeing implemented by the Institute for entrepreneurship development andself-employment generation in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He motivated thestudents to take up entrepreneurship as their career once they complete theirstudies.

On the occasion, the participant girls expressed theirdesire to work for creating awareness among the masses so that more youth optfor entrepreneurship as their career.

The program ended with a question-answer session, whereinthe queries raised by the students regarding different facets of the working ofJKEDI were answered.
