Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Thursday organised a boot camp under the J&K Startup Policy in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.
The camp was part of the boot camp campaign launched by theinstitute in all the districts of the state under the recently introducedJ&K Startup Policy for which JKEDI has been designated as the nodal agency,a spokesperson of the EDI said.
More than 250 participants attended the boot camp held atGovernment Degree College, Kulgam. Additional District DevelopmentCommissioner, Kulgam was the chief guest on the occasion.
Sheikh Fayaz, consultant at JKEDI delved into the need forexploring the ideas related to innovation and technology. He urged theparticipant students to express their innovative ideas so that the institute isable to help them to turn those ideas into profitable business ventures.
Besides Principal GDC Kulgam, faculty members of theCommerce Department of the college, faculty from GDC Kelam, and DH Pora alsoparticipated in the program. The program was coordinated by JKEDI DistrictCentre Kulgam including Dr. Imtiyaz Mantoo, DNO, Mr. Shabir Ahmad, Coordinatorand Mr. Sarfaraz Nawab, Office Associate.
The objective of the boot camp campaign launched by JKEDI isto bring mass awareness about the Startup Policy and to inculcate spirit ofinnovation among the youth to give flip to the conversion of innovative ideasinto profitable business ventures.
Meanwhile, a batch of 66 aspiring entrepreneurs completedthe three-week training from the Pampore campus of JKEDI.
The candidates were trained for entrepreneurshipopportunities in agri-allied sector at the Pampore campus under the SeedCapital Fund Scheme (SCFS) and Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS) beingimplemented by the institute.
The training program was modelled for agri-allied activitiesand the aspirants were trained for dairy, sheep, poultry rearing and mushroomcultivation. The aspirants hailed the designed curriculum for the programme.
