JKSDM observes World Youth Skills Day

With an aim to encourage youth to celebrate the value of acquiring skills and creating a way to achieve personal, J&K Skill Development Mission & its affiliated training providers observed World Youth Skills Day on Monday across the state.

A United Nation resolution to establish a World Youth SkillsDay was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 18, 2014 andevery year on July 15, World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) is celebrated across theworld.

   

In order to raise awareness about WYSD, J&K SkillDevelopment Mission(JKSDM) through its affiliated training centres organiseddebates, seminars, inspirational speeches and cultural programs to celebratethe occasion and explored ways on engaging youth towards skill development.

Mission Director, J&K Skill Development Missionparticipated in a WYSD programme organised at Pulwama while as JKSDM staff alsoparticipated in events in central, north and south Kashmir and in Jammudistrict.

“The programmes highlighted the importance of skilldevelopment in providing youth opportunities to develop their competencies andaccelerate their transition to work,” said JKSDM official.

Currently, more than 50 training providers affiliated withJ&K Skill Development Mission are providing quality skill training to theyouth of the state.
