Jammu and Kashmir Socio Economic Coordination Committee (JKSECC), an amalgam of various trade, industrial, tourism, travel, tour, horticulture, transport, educational, contractors and other civil society formations, has conveyed its dismay over the state government’s silence on panic like situation created by the rumours due to various ‘orders’ doing rounds in the social media.
A meeting of the amalgam was held in Srinagar which, among the representatives of constituent member organisations of JKSECC , was also attended by prominent business leaders of the apex and leading trade organisations, as special invitees, a written statement issued by the JKSECC said. “The members in the meeting expressed surprise over the silence, adopted over the issue, by concerned government authorities resulting in rumour mongering about some sinister plans being in the offing,” read the statement.
It said government has not given any explanation for the need for deployment of additional forces and when had state government requisitioned for it. “On the top of it, the political leadership of the party in power in the centre, is ambiguous in its statement further adding to these rumours as fuel,” it said.
