Job fair held in Anantnag

The District Employment and Counselling Center, Anantnag Wednesday conducted one-day job fair at Dak- Banglow Anantnag.

The job fair was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Muhamad Younus Malik who was also the chief guest on the occasion.

   

Later he inspected various stalls set up by the line departments including Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Employment and Counselling Centre, Anantnag, KVIB,  Fisheries, Industries, Handicrafts, Handloom,  Horticulture, Apiculture, Floriculture, UMEED, NRLM DUDA, ITI, Lead Bank, besides corporate sectors including LIC, Bajaj Allianz, J&K Bank, Pukhraj Health Care Limited,  Kanwal Group Of Industries Spices and Multi-Care Services.  

Speaking on the occasion, DC Anantnag said that the aim of organising such job fair is to educate and aware the unemployed youth about various welfare schemes, job oriented programs and employment schemes of the government.

“Unemployment is a big challenge for the government as well as for parents. Government is not in a position to provide a government job to every educated youth. So, they should come forward in the private sector for the establishment of income generating units for which government is providing financial assistance and interest subsidy,” he said.

Deputy Director Employment Sakeena Banoo said that the programme is intended to provide a platform for potential employers and job aspirants.

The program was moderated by career counselling officer Shazlia Qureshi.

A large number of unemployed youth and students participated in the fair.
