KCCI hails appointment of Choudhary as Tourism Secy

Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Friday hailed the Government decision to give charge of tourism secretary to Navin Kumar Choudhary, who it believes will help promote the sector given his vast experience.

“In view of his positive and helpful style of working, thetransfer has been widely welcomed by the Travel and Tourism sector. With thestakeholders having high expectations, the Government also needs to create anenvironment conducive for officers to deliver their best for the revival ofthis important sector of our economy,” read a statement issued by the KCCI.

   

KCCI urged the government that  in view of the large number of peopleassociated with the tourism sector, major policy changes are required for therevival of this sector.

“The Government would need to provide stability by assigningresponsibilities for longer durations to efficient and competent officers andalso to provide budgetary support at par with other tourist destinationstates,” it said.
