KFPA delegation calls on Food Safety Commissioner

A delegation of Kashmir Food Processors Association (KFPA) on Thursday met newly appointed Commissioner Food Safety Abdul Kabir at civil secretariat here. 

The delegation raised various issues include seminar cum workshop on food safety norms and awareness campaigns thereof, regular visits to the sector with given SOPs, effectiveness, standardization and calibration of mobile van equipment, various food analysis of raw materials and finished products produced by local food industry at nominal charges, availability of high level equipment for performing some sensitive tests of honey, edible oil, milk, mutton etc,” a statement issued by the Association said.  

   

The delegation also apprised the commissioner about recent high court order of implementing the FSSAI Act in letter and spirit. “If adopted and implemented with honesty it could be proved a boon for public in general and FBOs in particular which is not happening unfortunately & food industry has to bare the brunt,” the statement said. 

The commissioner listened to patiently and assured all possible support, the statement said.
