Legal Metrology Department on Friday fined a private hospital in Srinagar for using non-standard person weighing machines instead of mandatory120 kg capacity scale and standard height-gauge.
According to an official spokesperson, the LMD conducted asurprise inspection of the hospital and penalised it Rs 5,000 after it wasfound violating the norms.
Moreover, in the drug store of the hospital a packet ofX-ray film was seized for not carrying MRP. The distributor was heldresponsible for supplying such deficient products to the private hospitals anda penal sum of Rs10,000 was slapped as fine on the distributor for thedeficiency.
