Over 298 cr sanctioned for Dal

Srinagar, Mar 12: Under National Lake Conservation Plan, Rs. 298.76 crores have been sanctioned for Dal Lake. The sanction has been given in September last year, a PIB handout said.
As of January 2006, a total of 22 projects for conservation of 37 lakes have been sanctioned in 10 States for a total estimated cost of about Rs. 486 crore. Conservation works for 8 lakes have been completed till March 2005. The original outlay for NLCP during the Xth plan is Rs. 220 crore out of which an amount of about Rs. 106 crore have been released till date.
