PHD Chamber hails Guv Admin for getting approval for civilian flights from Awantipora airfield

PHD Chamber-Kashmir has lauded the efforts of Governor Administration for getting the clearance and approval for operation of civilian flights from Awantipora airfield under UDAAN Regional connectivity Scheme.

In an statement, PHD Chamber Kashmir chapter, ChairmanMushtaq Ahmad Chaya said, in July 2018 PHD Chamber Kashmir Chapter had ameeting with Advisor Vijay Kumar wherein issues of exorbitant air fare wasdiscussed and was suggested to  bring Un-servedAwantipora Airport and Old Airport Rangreth under Regional Connectivity Scheme(UDAN-RCS) in which the  Civil AviationPolicy  had capped the passenger faresfor flight journeys from un-served airports at Rs 2500 per hour of flying foraround 500 KM.

   

Chaya said, the chamber has put forth this suggestion inorder to meet the growing demand to curb the exorbitant airfares due to heavyinflux of travellers or highway breakdown in winters. “We are highly obliged toAdvisor who assured us that he will get the necessary clearance from Ministryof Defence and Civil Aviation, this reflects the fact that suggestionsSubmitted by PHD Chamber Kashmir in this regard has not gone unheard and we arevery thankful to Governor Administration for working relentlessly for resolvingthe issues pertaining to economic development of J&K,” it said.
