PHDCCI-K welcomes JK budget

While welcoming J&K Union Territory Budget 2020-21, Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, former Chairman and Mentor, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented an inclusive, balanced and focussed budget with a strong focus on socio-economic development of J&K.

“The proposals unveiled in it on various socio-economicfronts of the economy indicate promises of progress in coming times. The focuson employment, skill development, rural development, agriculture, horticulture,health sector, promotion and upgradation of Tourism sector, Agriculture, SocialWelfare, Handicraft, and Handloom, development of infrastructure, would go along way to promote all-inclusive development in the economy of J&K,”said Chaya in a statement.

   

“The infusion of capital of  Rs 1000 crore for improving banking serviceswill enhance the health of the banks and push up the pace of lending in theeconomy, by increasing the sentiments for credit availability,” he said.

“Big infrastructures push such as a massive program forimprovement of Mughal Road, Mass Rapid Urban Transport System , push toinfrastructure road connectivity through the projects such as 400 crore forMacadamization, 50-crore each for restoration/preservation  of Dal Lake and Wular lake, 200-Crore forBack to Village programme for providing basic and other amenities in villages,Interest subvention to 1000 artisans, Introduction of Karkhandar Scheme,  the target of building infrastructure Constructionof bridges, 150 e-buses, 100% water Supply, reform in power sector,  will certainly push the infrastructure healthof the J&K to the next level.”

The proposal to invest in 3-religious Circuits a) Shiv Khori– Uttar Bani –Purmandal – Mata Sukhrala Deviji. b) Shankeracharya – Mata KhirBhawani – Martand (Mattan). c) Makhdoom Sahib – Khanqah-e-Moula – Watlab –Babareshi– Pakharpora – Aishmuqam (as Sufi circuit) is highly encouraging andput J&K tourism infrastructure development really on a high road, said MrChaya. The government’s commitment to skill development of the youth as per thecurrent technological developments is indicative of the progressive thoughts ofthe government to steer economy towards growth and prosperity, said Mr ChayaMentor of PHDCCI-Kashmir.

“Overall, we believe the budget is balanced, pragmaticand would rejuvenate the economic growth trajectory of the J&K,” saidChairman PHDCCI-K  Baldev Singh Raina.
