Pulwama village adopted for paddy seed cultivation

In a bid to bridge gap between the actual yield and potential yield of paddy, Jammu and Kashmir agriculture production department (APD), Zone kakapora has adopted Banderpora as a Paddy seed village for the year 2019.

The step has been taken to increase production andproductivity of this prominent crop.

   

Officials said that in order to achieve the goal, Highyielding Paddy seed has been distributed among farmers on notified rates invillage Banderpora of Pulwama.

Officials said that the objective is to develop this villageas a pioneer village in rice production.

“So far land has been identified and Foundation seed ofpaddy, SR-4 variety which is very much feasible to the ecological niche of thevillage has been distributed among progressive farmers on notified rates,” saidan official from APD

“Furthermore the field functionaries are on toes to provideon-Field guidance to the farmers right from sowing to the harvest of the crop,”he said.
