Release wages of Anganwari workers, casual labourers: GA Mir to govt

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President GA Mir has asked the state government to look into the grievances of agitating Anganwari workers and other casual labourers and release their salary before Eid.

Anganwari Welfare Forum called on JKPCC President GA Mirtoday and sought his intervention in releasing their pending wages, besidesensuring redressal of other grievances they were confronted with.

   

GA Mir expressed serious concern over the hardshipsconfronting by Anganwari Workers and the casual labourers serving in PHE andother departments for a long time, a statement issued by the the JKPCC said.

Stating that the Governor SP Malik must address their concernsbefore the auspicious occasion of EidUlAzha, Mir said Anganwari Workers, werenot being paid their wages regularly which has forced them to agitate on roads,besides there were pending wages, which the government should clear to ensurethat they could be able to sustain their families.

The workers were deeply involved in social activities, theyneed to be facilitated to continue with their work, Mir added and urged thegovernment should make serious efforts to release and enhance their monthlywages.
