A press handout issued here states that approximately 600 students of class X, XI and XII belonging to different districts of Kashmir region participated in these sessions. The sessions were conducted at NIT Srinagar by experts from various fields.

"Our team, over past 3 months, visited over 40 schools across Kashmir, from Gurez to Shopian, to conduct the first round of Rise talent search at schools itself. Through these tests we identified approximately 700 talented students from classes 10th, 11th and 12th, said Mubeen Masudi from RISE.

He added  they invited these students to participate in the round 2 of the talent search which would decide the overall Kashmir region toppers. The round 2 of test was followed by counselling sessions. The aim of these sessions was to make these students aware of the educational opportunities that lie ahead of them, and how to chase them."
