Rs 40 crore grid station coming up at Marh: Rigzin Jora

Jammu, Apr 22: Rs 40 crore Power Grid Station is coming up at Marh in Jammu district.
This was stated by Minister for power Niwang Rigzin Jora while addressing a public meeting at Marh today, an official statement said today.
Jora said that the government is committed to provide better power supply to the people of the state. He said that power supply in the Marh area would improve after commissioning the new grid station there.
Ex-MLA Balwan Singh also spoke on the occasion and putforth various problems confronting the people of the block. He demanded for adequate power supply during the summer so that lift irrigation schemes in the area could function properly. He also demanded repairs and replacement of damaged electric transformers in the area.
The Minister was accompanied by a team of engineers of power department during his visit.
Later, Jora inaugurated a show room of Sate Handloom Corporation set up at Residency Road. The Minister appreciated the corporation for market networking efforts and desired that more such exclusive show rooms will help the corporation to increase its turn over considerably.
