Principal Secretary, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Asgar HassanSamoon Wednesday launched insurance scheme for the poultry farmers of Jammudivision here.
Around 30 beneficiary farmers and representatives of BajajAllianz Company Limited were present on the occasion.
The president Poultry Farmers Association expressed hisgratitude to the principal secretary for taking the initiative of providinginsurance cover to the farmers. The representatives of Bajaj Allianz InsuranceCompany gave detailed information on the objectives of the insurance providedto the farmers, according to an official spokesperson.
Director, animal husbandry, Jammu, Tahir Beg was alsopresent on the occasion and said the insurance scheme would go a long way instrengthening the poultry sector in the state.
Earlier, the Principal Secretary also interacted with thepoultry farmers to listen to the issues being faced by them. He gave them apatient hearing and assured them that all of their genuine issues would belooked into.
