Commissioner secretary tourism Rigzin Samphel on Thrusday convened a meeting to discuss the proposed passenger ropeway at Shivkhori.
Managing director,J&K Cable Car Corporation, Shamim Ahmad Wani , general manager RITES, NCSrivastava and other team of engineers of JKSCCC and RITES attended the meeting, according to astatement.
The said proposed Ropeway Project has already been approvedby Chairman JKSCCC for initiating the various processes of execution.
MD JKSCCC appraised thecommissioner secretary about the details of the project and future course ofaction. General manager RITES explained the technical details of the projectand factors required for the environment clearance of the project. Managingdirector JKSCCC also briefed about the benefits accrued after implementation ofthe project.
The proposed Shivkhori Ropeway Project is fully importedmono-cable detachable gondola system about 1.75 km in length with a carryingcapacity of 2000 passenger per hour with 12 towers.
