Secy tourism discusses proposed Shivkhori ropeway

Commissioner secretary tourism Rigzin Samphel on Thrusday convened a meeting to discuss the proposed passenger ropeway at Shivkhori.

 Managing director, J&K Cable Car Corporation, Shamim Ahmad Wani , general manager RITES, NC Srivastava and other team of engineers of JKSCCC and RITES  attended the meeting, according to a statement.

The said proposed Ropeway Project has already been approved by Chairman JKSCCC for initiating the various processes of execution.

MD JKSCCC appraised the commissioner secretary about the details of the project and future course of action. General manager RITES explained the technical details of the project and factors required for the environment clearance of the project. Managing director JKSCCC also briefed about the benefits accrued after implementation of the project.

The proposed Shivkhori Ropeway Project is fully imported mono-cable detachable gondola system about 1.75 km in length with a carrying capacity of 2000 passenger per hour with 12 towers.
