Shehar-e-Khaas Traders Association holds interaction with bank officials

Various banking related demands of traders from Downtown areas of the city were discussed in a meeting attended by Shehar-e-Khaas Traders Association members with J&K Bank officials on Wednesday.  Nazir Ahmad Shah, chairman, Shehar-e-Khaas Traders, Manufacturers Coordination Committee said the traders requested bank officials to open a counter for the purpose of pensioners on the ground floor at Nailaimar Branch which at present is located at the third floor. Shah said traders have also urged that a branch head who at present has authority to issue over drawing (OD) of only 20 percent which should be further increased.  

Shah said the businessmen who visit outside the Valley provide traders with cheques which he claimed do not get cleared at the bank branches. He said this issue was discussed in detail.  Highlighting the need of setting up more ATM kiosks at Downtown, the traders apprised the bank officials that common people and traders are in need of more ATMs. 

   

“We have already submitted details of locations where more ATMs are required. These details have been submitted with the GM and we hope ATMs are installed soon so that common people don’t suffer,” Shah said.
