To re-orient its syllabus as per the market demands and make students job-ready, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir held ‘Academia-Industry Interface on Forest Business Development’ in which experts from country’s top wood and forest-based industries participated.
The four-day programme, organised by SKUAST-K’s Faculty ofForestry at Benihama Campus, was conducted under the aegis of ICAR-World Bankfunded National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP).
The industry experts who participated as the resourcepersons in the programme included CEO, AvanthaAgritech Ltd, DrSuchitaBhandari,General Manager, West Coast Paper, PB Mutha, Corporate Head, JK Paper, DKDaukia, and Vice President, Trident Group, KunalMagotra.
Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-K, Prof Nazeer Ahmed, whilespeaking at the valedictory function of the programme, stressed on buildingstrong academia-industry relations for the mutual benefits of the both. Dean, Faculty of Forestry, Prof TH Masoodi,briefly talked about the forestry education and job opportunities in theindustry.
