Casual labourers engaged in Tourism Department, Kashmir on Saturday appealed the Governor SP Malik to intervene and directed concerned authorities for releasing their withheld wages.
The group of aggrieved casual labourers said their wages arewithheld from July 2014.
These labourers said they have repeatedly taken up thematter with concerned authorities. “But despite assurances, our salaries havenot been released so far. Our pleas have fallen on deaf ears,” said one of thelabourers.
“For almost five years now, we have not received a singlepenny. We fail to understand, why our salaries have been withheld without anyjustification,” they said.
They appealed Governor SP Malik to personally look into thematter and issue directions to concerned authorities for release of theirwages.
