UGC national eligibility test on June 25

Srinagar: The University Grants Commission (UGC) will hold National Eligibility Test (NET) on June 25, 2006 (Sunday) for determining the eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lecturership in Indian Universities and colleges. The test will be conducted in 77 subjects at 66 selected University centres including the Test Centre at University of Kashmir, here, a PIB handout said today.
The candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master degree or equivalent examination from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (Including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this test. The candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Masters Degrees examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed, may also apply for this test.
The examination fee is Rs 450/- for general candidates, for other backward classes (OBCs) the fee is Rs.225/- and for SC/ ST/ PH/ VH candidates, it is Rs 110/-.
The last date for receipt of duly completed application forms at the respective test centres is April 28, 2006. The candidates should submit their application forms to the Registrar, University of Kashmir, Srinagar. The details are available in Employment News March 25 and also on website www.ugc.ac.in.
