Union Education Minister inaugurates ACSS Centre at MM Ambala

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has inaugurated the Advanced Clinical Skill and Simulation Centre at the Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana, Ambala. This state-of-the-art Centre will be one of the largest and most advanced facilities available to help and train healthcare professionals from all over the world.

In a statement the institute said that Pokhriyal congratulated Chancellor M.M. (Deemed to be University), Tarsem Garg for establishing such a large Lab for the training of Medical and paramedical Students and faculty. He further emphasised the role of skill and simulation in clinical training and added that this lab will bring M.M. (Deemed to be University) to be one of the top University in the world in terms of Clinical training. Pokhriyal took keen interest in exploring and knowing more about the various simulation modules and stations. He appreciated the incorporation of the latest technologies in medical education and training at MM (DU). Members of the Board of Management and University Officials of M M (Deemed to be University) were also present on the occasion.

   

“M.M. (Deemed to be University) is ranked by NIRF amongst top hundred Universities of India in 2020 and M.M. Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is ranked 33rd among all Medical Colleges and continuing this Journey of excellence. Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University) has established one of India’s Largest Clinical Advanced Skill and Simulation Laboratory for training of Undergraduate and Post graduate Medical, Nursing and Paramedical students and faculty. The centre is spread over an extensive area of 15000 sq Feet and built at an approx. cost of Rs. 20 Cr,” the statement reads.

“MM(DU) Clinical Skill & Simulation Laboratory has most advanced mannequins and simulators that closely simulate humans which can breathe, cry, blink, bleed and respond either automatically or manually to the physical and medical interventions. The Skill and Simulation facility also has Adult Patient Simulator, Paediatrics and Neonatal Simulator, Infant and Child mannequins in virtual Intensive Care Units (ICU), Paediatric-ICU and operation theatre modules to provide real-time experience and to teach the skills for handling complex case scenario. The Centre has facilities for advanced training in laparoscopy, arthroscopy, endoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, urological procedures, Angiography and Gynaecological Procedures and ultrasound imaging with the help of most advanced Simulation Trainers,” it added.
