Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Arvind Ganpat Sawant Friday met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here.
Governor and Sawant discussed about the initiatives requiredfor making Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) more competitive and the possibleavenues for improving the industrial sector and generating employment inJ&K, an official spokesperson said.
The union minister was on a visit to Kashmir to attend thelaunch ceremony on the 20 first electric buses in Srinagar. In the morningwhile attending the ceremony, Sawant said that the fleet of E-Buses willcontribute in reducing the pollution levels. He said that the CentralGovernment is taking several initiatives to meet the challenges of environmentalthreats by focussing on improving the quality of mass transportation.
He also appreciated the state government for introducing alivestock breeding policy to improve quality of livestock and promote thewelfare of the farming community.
